‘The Sanctuary’ …. the holiest and most sacred part of a church or temple, which in spiritual terms is understood to exist within the heart. It denotes a place of refuge from the stresses and strains of life, accessible to all who truly seek it. 

The Christos Litany is used within the Order to realign the mind from earthly cares and concerns to an awareness of the spiritual life, and has traditionally been employed by the Order as a preparation for the spiritual exercises of Prayer, Meditation and Contemplation.
